Providing water is one of the deeds by which a Muslim earns God’s pleasure, and it is one of the greatest acts of charity. It is mentioned in the Prophetic hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him: “There is no Muslim who gives water to someone who is thirsty except that God will give him to drink from a sealed nectar on the Day of Resurrection.” And the hadith of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, where he said: “The best charity is giving water to someone.”
