The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Doing good deeds protects one from the battle of evil, charity in secret extinguishes the wrath of the Lord, and keeping ties of kinship increases one’s lifespan.”
These noble hadiths emphasize the virtue of charity in warding off calamity and doubling the reward. When we give charity with sincere intentions, we are certain that God will write us a great reward and protect us from a great calamity.
